As a newbie in the entertainment biz, ideally, I have to be neutral. It’s not wise for a “neophyte” like me to take a stand especially in this controversial “National Artist” issue. In this early point of my career, I have to please everybody and one way of doing that is by not saying which side I’m in. For some will agree and some will defer and my opinion will consciously or unconsciously affect their judgment about my music and about me. But on this day I have decided…I have to speak and make a stand.

This can be a “career suicide" (pero di naman gaanong deadly, bread knife lang ) in my part because my stand will limit possible gigs, guesting and appearances. But what the heck! Opinion makes me “human” and I think as an artist, I have to express myself.

I decided to attend the burial of Gawad Pambansang Alagad ng Sining at CCP. Yes it will limit possibilities pero wala naman akong planong tumugtog sa event ni Carlo J. Caparas. And isa pa, I really believe na medyo nababoy talaga ang selection.

You may or may not agree with us, but this our stand.

God bless this country!

-GORGORO

Maraming salamat kay Manix Abrera :-)

I'll post Gerry Alanguilan's video about the issue, Para maliwanagan ang mga walang idea. Peace!
