Just recorded my first single

just recorded my first song (jackpot) last April,27.2008. After months of continous listening to blur and weezer...my song "Jackpot" is the product of that immersion. You can listen to "jackpot" in my Multiply account: gorgoro.multiply.com.

Bali trip update

I've mentioned before that I went to Bali because of the information I got that Animal is there. I visited this place where anyone can have a photo with Animal... I got excited...so excited that I searched that place entire day, I didn't give up easily until I realized it was a different animal. That place was called Bali Safari.

I was so disappointed, I went to Hard Rock for a drink. As I went upstair of this Cafe, I thought maybe Animal might be here since they have live bands performing and I know my dad loves music. I looked around, outside and inside the bar, I guess I wasn't as lucky as I thought I would be.

The time was ticking and still no trace of my dad (though I saw an old gig poster of Manfred Mann and "the Animals" but again,it was a different animal). I left Bali unsuccesful but I am still full of hope that one day we will meet. I am back in Manila again creating songs that I wish my father will hear someday. Life must go on. I will continue playing my nusic and will never stop searching for my father, Animal.

Greetings from Bali

A few days ago, a friend informed me that Animal is in Bali. Given that info, I packed my bags and flew here in Bali, Indonesia... Now, I am finally here, hoping and praying that I can see my father in person.. Wish me luck and I will update this soon!

I just want to repost this story in my blog so people can understand my situation.

I'm a struggling musician.

I think I got my passion for music from my Dad, he is a famous international drummer. Way back 1982, when he first visited the Philippines as part of their band's World tour and after this Big Night at Olongapo, he had a one night shot of joy with my "Nanay" (mom in filipino). He went back to the States and my Nanay was left with no idea that this drummer got her pregnant. After 25 years here I am..singing songs..making music...and waiting for my Dad's recognition. My father's name is Animal..

My first Blog

I’m not really into this “blogging” thing until a friend of mine suggested that it’s really vital for my quest to see my dad. Last week I just started Myspace music account (http://www.myspace.com/gorgoromusic ) after sometime I started a friendster (http://profiles.friendster.com/gorgoro) account and then a Youtube
(http://www.youtube.com/user/GORGOROMUSIC) musician’s channel, I just hope that these simple ways can help my Dad trace me.
I’ve been receiving words of encouragement from my cyber friends, that really inspires me a lot to continue this quest.

I know blogging has a lot of “exposing power”. Just recently, a blog about the “Gucci Gang” spreads like wildfire in the internet. Local and international news papers wrote about it, Filipino TV as well as its international counterpart put interest on it just because of a single blog.

My main purpose of making this is for me to reach rockstardom (gig updates,latest video announcements etc.) hoping my dad, animal, will do notice me as a musician (like him) and be aware that he has a “love child” here in the Philippines.
